The defining design decision for an agriculture college is the instructional/demonstration farm ICAR expects every accredited college to operate, commonly 10–20+ acres, sitting outside the core academic campus. EROCON plans land strategy for the farm alongside the building brief, designing B.Sc./M.Sc. Agriculture campuses across India as a single, coordinated programme.
Our feasibility team advises on instructional-farm land strategy alongside the academic building programme, and our architecture team designs the teaching block and farm-support structures, with EROCON delivering both through integrated EPC.
India's agricultural education network includes 63 ICAR-accredited State Agricultural Universities and hundreds of affiliated colleges, forming one of the largest systems of its kind in the world.
Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR accreditation norms) and UGC. ICAR-accredited agriculture colleges are expected to operate a substantial instructional/demonstration farm in addition to classroom and lab buildings, the dominant land driver for the school, planned as a peripheral or adjoining parcel.
Does the instructional farm count toward the core campus area?
No. ICAR expects a substantial instructional/demonstration farm, commonly 10 – 20+ acres, but this is planned as a separate, peripheral or adjoining land parcel, not folded into the core academic campus footprint.
What built-up area does the agriculture teaching block itself need?
For an 80 UG / 20 PG annual intake, budget roughly 4,800 sqm gross built-up area for classrooms and labs, the instructional farm is budgeted and sited entirely separately.
What facilities support post-harvest training?
A dedicated Post-Harvest Processing Unit with a grading/sorting line, drying equipment and small cold storage, alongside a Farm Machinery Shed with vehicle access for tractors and repair work.
EROCON’s feasibility team plans instructional-farm land alongside the academic programme, our architecture team designs the teaching and farm-support facilities, and our integrated EPC capabilities deliver the complete campus and farm infrastructure as a unified development.
